MAN/WO/MAN > Reykjavik City Theater > 2004 Choreography:
Ismo-Pekka Heikinheimo and Ólöf Ingólfsdóttir It takes all kinds to make a world. There is always someone who does not know or care whether (s)he is a man or a woman. ManWoMan is a dance to celebrate the diversity of the human being. The carnivalistic costumes are inspired by blossoming orchids and awkward ostriches. Lightness and emotional depths amplify each other. ManWoMan turns on the gender blender and whips up an invigorating smoothie to the beat of freshly composed pop music. It is good to be different. THE MUSIC: Strange variety were the keyfactors here. Not one theme, but a new one for each section of the dance. From the silly carelessness of "Walk in the Park" to energetic rock in GoGoGo!!! |
