A Radio Play by Steinunn Sigurðardóttir

Director: María Kristjánsdóttir
Recording and post production: Hjörtur Svavarsson
Music: Hallur Ingólfsson

Actors: Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir, Gísli Pétur Hinriksson and Baldur Trausti Hreinsson

THE PLAY: Haraldur can't stand Christmas. During the holidays he goes with his wife Lisa abroad where he is wrapped like a mummy and sleeps constantly. There is not much Lisa can do except enjoy the uninspired luxury of the hotel and let the mind wander. Strange thoughts seek her under the excotic circumstances and Haraldur does not sleep as much as he pretends.

THE MUSIC: The author requested in the script that the music should be Rai-music. I had no idea what that is, but the specialists at RUV informed me. It is very raw Alsirian folk music that begins with a short riff that is repeated to infinity without much alternation. I used this as a base and added in what the icelanders bring with them to that mood.
